About the project:
It’s time to carry the banner on your stage with Disney’s Newsies! Set in turn-of-the century New York City, Newsies is the rousing tale of Jack Kelly, a charismatic newsboy and leader of a band of teenaged “newsies.” When titans of publishing raise distribution prices at the newsboys expense, Jack rallies newsies from across the city to strike against the unfair conditions and fight for what’s right!
Additional info:
Prepare a 32 bar cut of a song not from the show. Provide sheet music for the accompanist. A Capella auditions are discouraged. You may fill out the audition form attached in advance or do so when you arrive for your audition.
Callbacks: on April 17.
Rehearsals will begin the week of June 16th and will usually be held Monday-Thursday, 6:30 pm-9:30 pm, however not every actor will be called to rehearsal everyday.
Show dates are: July 24-26 and July 31-August 2. Actors must be available for tech week and all performances.
