Note on language & accent – The characters speak a unique kind of prairie-Mennonite English. Their speech reflects the underlying Plautdietsch (Low German) patterns of their world. At times they use Plautdietsch words or anglicized forms of Plautdietsch words. Read the dialogue as written and allow an accent to develop naturally. Avoid imposing a caricature spoof accent on the lines.
