About the play:
Production Blurb: Thumbelina: A Little Musical – a new musical with book, music, and lyrics by Julia Riew – is an adaptation of the beloved story by Hans Christian Andersen of a courageous girl who forges her path, embraces her differences and finds her place. Determined to meet someone her own size, 3-inch tall Thumbelina steps outside her garden walls for the first time and embarks on a great adventure with Julian, prince of the fairies. Little does she know, she’s about to discover a world of danger, secrets, surprises, and friendship.
Rate:
$850 Honorarium for show run, $45 per performance for added performances you are in.

SHOW DATES (24 Performances):
May 4th to June 9th.
Saturdays and Sundays.
10:00am & 12:30pm.
Possible added performances for School Groups during the week based on availability.
Flexible rehearsals scheduled 3 times per week. Readthrough taking place the week of March 11th with rehearsals beginning the week of MARCH 18th. Longer days expected during tech week the week prior to opening.
Show Run Time: Approximately 50-60 Minutes.
Please prepare a TYA Appropriate Monologue that showcases your ability to develop a strong, fun, and animated character from a child-centric perspective. Also please prepare a Musical Theatre song of your choosing (16 bars). The Music Director may not be available to accompany all of the auditions, so if you have the option of a track, please feel free to bring it. If you have any fun tricks, unusual talents, or something that you feel makes you unique, directors would love to hear about it.
You may be asked to step into a cold read of a scene selection from the show.
