Playhouse is proud to announce its upcoming auditions for the musical “Ride the Cyclone”. Actors needed. Please see the breakdown below.

About the project:
“In this hilarious and outlandish story, the lives of six teenagers from a Canadian chamber choir are cut short in a freak accident aboard a roller coaster. When they awake in limbo, a mechanical fortune teller invites each to tell a story to win a prize like no other — the chance to return to life. This popular musical is a funny, moving look at what makes a life well-lived!”

Audition Information for in-person auditions:
All ages are approximate and not set in stone.
No appointment is necessary to audition.
Please be prepared to sing ANY 16 – 32-bar cut of a song from the show. Tracks will be provided. A Capella is not an option.
Those auditioning for The Amazing Karnak should prepare the monologue attached. Directors would prefer if it was memorized, but you can read the sheet if necessary.
If requested, directors prefer in-person callbacks, but if you can’t attend, they still encourage you to audition. If needed, directors will request a virtual callback which will be due no later than 8/10/25 @12:00pm.
Please provide a Headshot and Resume.
If necessary, sides will be provided.
Be prepared to list any conflicts you might have from 8/13/2025 through 10/19/2025.
Rehearsals will take place 3 times a week, usually consisting of two weekdays and one weekend day rehearsal. All actors must be available for the entirety of tech week: 10/4/25 -10/9/25 and for all performance dates: 10/10/2025 – 10/12/2025, 10/17/2025 – 10/19/2025.
Video submissions are accepted until 8/8/2025 at 10:30pm: see the document attached.
Callbacks: Sunday 8/10 from 1:30pm – 4:30pm.

Adopted from the Ukraine as a teenager; he has a thick Ukrainian dialect and a lot of rage; he is obsessed by Gansgsta Rap (an enormous fan of the auto-tune phenomena); there is a hidden, soulful romantic side; Baritenor with the ability to sing lyrical Ukrainian folk music as well as rap.

Very deep self-loathing. Will do anything for Ocean’s friendship and allows herself to be used as a doormat; dubbed “the nicest girl in town,” a title she secretly despises. Very likable comic actress; alto belt, with a rock range.

She was decapitated in the accident, and no one claimed her body; even though she isn’t headless in the piece. She reacted in a literal way and largely without emotion, almost robot-like; the other contestants are totally freaked out by her. Classically trained soprano with a flexible coloratura upper range, and some grit and mean in the lower register.
