About the play:
Geppetto, a woodworker and maker of toys, makes a puppet who suddenly comes to life. He is very mischievous and whenever he tells a lie his nose grows longer. While on his way to school, Pinocchio decides to run away, firstly to join a fair and later to go to Pleasure Island, where children are turned into donkeys and never return. Geppetto tries to rescue Pinocchio from the island but is swallowed by a whale. Meanwhile, Pinocchio escapes from the island but is also swallowed by the whale from which they all escape when the whale snorts them from its blowhole. When he finally becomes a reformed character, the Blue Fairy rewards Pinocchio by turning him into a real boy.
