Description

Seeking male comedic actors, stand-ups, or sketch performers to portray a comedic Jewish Rabbi at actual weddings, bar mitzvahs, and other life cycle events. While you do not have to be Jewish, you must realistically be able to portray this character. Company states: “Males 18 and up as we’re not looking for the stereotypical Rabbi with an accent and long white beard. However, if you are an older performer that’s fine too. You must have a Catskills, Borsht Belt comic sensibility a la Jackie Mason or Billy Crystal. We’re seeking someone with great comedy and hosting chops. The entire program is just 15 to 20 minutes in length and you’re done! Professional pay. Flexible schedule. We are casting immediately for talent in a variety of cities throughout the country, however, you must be a local hire in that city.

He is the front man, a hilarious "emcee" with a Borsht Belt sensibility a la Billy Crystal, Jackie Mason, etc.; a great actor, emcee, or stand-up alone will not do, as what's really needed is a melding of all three.
