About the project:
Xanadu follows the story of a magical Greek muse, Kira, who descends from Mount Olympus on a quest to inspire a struggling artist to achieve the greatest artistic creation of all time – a ROLLER DISCO! (Hey, it’s 1980.) But, when Kira falls into forbidden love, her jealous sisters take advantage of the situation and chaos abounds.
This electrifying and hilarious tale will keep audiences in stitches, while the original chart-topping tunes by the Electric Light Orchestra guarantee a bonafide 80’s blast!

Rate:
All roles paid a flat performance and rehearsal stipend.
At this time, they do not provide transportation or housing.

Additional info:
Please prepare 16 bars (roughly 30 seconds) of a pop song of your choice that showcases your strongest vocals, with recorded accompaniment.
(Bluetooth-enabled speakers will be available. A live accompanist will not be provided.)
You may also be asked to read from the script, learn vocal parts, and learn choreography.
Callbacks will take place on the same night.
Directors are not able to consider video submissions at this time.
Rehearsals begin on May 28, 2025 and will run four times a week in the evenings.
Performance dates: July 25-August 03
Fridays and Saturdays 8pm/Sundays 2pm

[Vocal Range G3-A5]. The youngest of the muses, and their leader. Falls in love with Sonny. Pretty, adventurous, honest, and determined. KIRA must be very comfortable on skates, as she wears them for the majority of the story.

Doubles as Zeus. [Vocal Range A3-C6]. The hard-nosed “all work no play” businessman who owns the theater he once built for his love, Kira. Used to be a budding artist like Sonny, but has since let money and greed consume him. This role does NOT skate.
