Audition Requirements:
Vocal Audition: A song from or in the style of the show, please bring a 16-32 Bar audition cut. They will have a piano accompanist as well as the ability to play tracks from your phone.
Cold Read: You may be asked to read from the script.
Dance Call: A dance audition will follow vocal auditions. Bring comfortable clothing and shoes to move freely.
Please arrive at least 15 minutes before your scheduled time.
Young Frankenstein is a musical comedy known for its outrageous humor and classic Mel Brooks flair. Please be aware that this production contains adult themes, suggestive content, and overtly sexual humorall played for laughs in the spirit of parody. While the tone is lighthearted and farcical, the material may not be appropriate for all audiences or performers. Directors want all participants to feel comfortable, so please take this into consideration before proceeding with auditions.

Dr. Frederick Frankenstein

56.

Baritone/Tenor (Bb2 G4). A brilliant, uptight New York brain surgeon and professor. Initially ashamed of his familys dark past, but gradually embraces his destiny. Comedic, charismatic, and must handle rapid-fire dialogue and physical comedy.

40.

Bass (D3 Bb4). The creature brought to life by Frederick. Non-verbal at first, but must display a wide emotional range. Eventually sings, dances, and charms the audience. Requires excellent physical comedy and presence.

(Pronounced Eye-gore) - Baritone/Tenor (C3 G4). Fredericks eager, bug-eyed servant with a moving hump. Mischievous, witty, and delightfully weird. A great comedic role with lots of physicality and timing.

Soprano (G3 A5). A yodeling, sexy Transylvanian lab assistant. Sweet, playful, and endearing with a strong comedic streak. Must be comfortable with suggestive humor and dance.

Mezzo-Soprano (F#3 F#5) Fredericks high-maintenance New York socialite fianc?e. Dramatic, glamorous, and hilariously self-absorbed. Must be able to sell a big solo number with comic flair.

Alto/Mezzo (E3 E5) The housekeeper with a mysterious past and a deep love for the late Victor Frankenstein. Dark, intense, and oddly seductive. Classic deadpan humor.

Baritone (A2 F4). The police inspector with a prosthetic arm and leg. Gruff, determined, and over-the-top. Often plays the straight man in a world of chaos.
